Dharamshala–Mcleodganj–Palampur is not just a weekend trip but a wholesome Himalayan experience filled with monasteries, calm forests, Tibetan culture, scenic cafés and endless mountain views. This 3 Nights / 4 Days journey is one of the most loved weekend getaways fr  om Delhi because of its peaceful vibe, easy accessibility and the perfect blend of nature, culture and adventure. These destinations welcome you with open hearts, warm people and the healing energy of the Dhauladhar ranges.

Your journey starts from New Delhi (Volvo / Traveller / Cab), gradually entering the beautiful Kangra Valley. Once you reach Dharamshala, the air itself feels different — quieter, cooler, surrounded by pine forests, tea gardens and distant snow-capped mountains. Dharamshala is known for its scenic Cricket Stadium, serene monasteries, calm neighbourhoods and dreamy sunsets that turn the entire valley golden.

The next stop is Mcleodganj, a lively little hilltown famous for its Tibetan influence, colourful markets, trendy cafés, monasteries and beautiful forest-side walks. You can explore Bhagsu Temple & Waterfall, Dalai Lama Temple, Naddi Sunset Point, St. John Church, local art shops and peaceful trails covered in tall cedars. Mcleodganj is a paradise for café lovers, culture seekers and people who simply want to slow down and breathe mountain air.

(FUN FACT – Mcleodganj is also called “Little Lhasa of India” because it is home to the Tibetan Government-in-Exile.)

After exploring Mcleodganj, the journey takes you to the scenic town of Palampur, famous for its vast tea gardens, pine forests, peaceful riverbanks and old-school Himachali charm. Surrounded by the Dhauladhar ranges, Palampur offers postcard-perfect landscapes everywhere you look. You can visit the famous Saurabh Van Vihar, tea estates, scenic viewpoints and local markets.

(FUN FACT – Palampur is known as the “Tea Capital of North India” because of its Kangra Tea production.)

During this trip, you get the best mix of sightseeing, mountain walks, monastery visits and café hopping. Evenings are perfect for exploring local markets, trying Tibetan and Himachali food, or simply sitting at a café overlooking the mountains.

(TIP – If you love Tibetan food, try Thenthuk, Shaphaley and traditional Butter Tea. If you’re a sunset lover, Naddi Viewpoint offers magical sky colours.)

With Nomadic India, this experience becomes even more special. We ensure comfortable stays, seamless travel, certified local guides, perfect timing for sunset points and monastery visits, hidden cafés, offbeat trails and local recommendations that make your journey feel personal and memorable. We want you to feel the culture, not just see it — and to explore the valley the way locals do.
